Choir

Choir singing is synonymous with Grey College in Bloemfontein.
In 2005 more than a hundred enthusiastic Grey boys joined the choir. Since then a high standard has been maintained and the choir has had successful performances with various famous South African artists like Laurika Rauch, Steve Hofmeyr, Theuns Jordaan, Nianell "Drie van die Bestes", Lize Beekman,Anna Davel,Karen Zoid and Andre de Villiers. 
The Grey choir, consisting of 80 committed and enthusiastic choristers, performs during many of the highlights on the annual school calendar.  The choir is one of the main attractions at the annual Grey Music Festival in the Sand du Plessis theatre, regularly takes part in eisteddfods and delivers many praiseworthy performances at various concerts and events, church services and concerts. 
The choir’s dedication contributes positively towards the image of the school.
The highlight of 2009 was undoubtedly the  ATKV-Applous competition where the choir won in the category: ‘Boys’ Choirs - less experienced’.  
During 2010 the choir participated in ‘Music in the Mountains’, an event presented by  the Drakensberg Boys Choir, “Songs of Celebration” and was the demonstration choir for the ATKV - choir workshop in the Free State.
The choir is currently under the direction of Joanie Prinsloo and Christo Janse van Rensburg. 

The wish of the Grey Choir will always be that “what we sing with our lips, we may believe in our hearts and what we believe in our hearts we may show in our lives”.
