The Indomitus vocal ensemble was founded in 1992. Since then this group has become well known for its performances, especially in A Capella style. Their repertoire, however, includes a wide variety of works which they perform at competitions, locally and internationally.
Under Charl du Plessis Indomitus recorded their first CD. In 1998 Yvette Schoeman took over the musical arrangements of the group. Highlights during her time include another CD in 1999, as well as the Hansie Cronje memorial recording with Laurika Rauch as guest artist. In May 2002 Indomitus obtained a second place and a golden award during the Robert Schumann Choir Competition in Zurickam, Germany.
The group performs annually at the Grey Music Festival in the Sand du Plessis theatre. During these festivals the boys experience the privilege to share the stage with artist such as Nianell, Drie van die Bestes, Theuns Jordaan and Steve Hofmeyr.
Further highlights include: semi-finalists in the ATKV national Crescendo competition, a variety of accolades during Eisteddfods and in 2007 a very successful concert in the Odeion.
Since its founding the Indomitus Ensemble has hosted members of the National Youth Choir and Symphony orchestra, as well as excellent sportsmen.
