The Grey College Winter coaching program started during April and will run until the end of August.
All the players who form part of this year’s program were recorded during the first few weeks and each individual’s technique was discussed and analyzed. During the coming months the players will go through a range of drills and skills exercises in order to improve their technique. During the winter months the bowlers also work on variations and the coaches ensure that all bowling actions are bio-mechanically sound in order to minimise their injuries.
Players from all age groups (u/11 to u/19) form part of the program and this winter we will have a total of 80 cricketers attending.
There are 2 coaching sessions every afternoon. The first session starts at 16:00 and finishes at 17:15, while the second runs from 17:15 until 18:30.
All the coaching sessions take place in the old indoor facility at the Free State Cricket Union and we scheduled sessions in such a way that it does not clash with other winter sports codes.
