“Our boys fully deserve to win the Grey ABSA Tennis Tournament.”  That is the words of Mr Naresh Mahabeer, teacher in charge of Grey tennis. For the first time in many years the first tennis team succeeded in winning their backyard tournament. 
Many highly-rated schools like Pretoria Boys High, St Stithians, Kearsney College, Affies, Waterkloof High School as well as Selborne College are attracted annually to compete in this prestigious tournament.
The first team beat St Stithians relatively easily with a 6-0 score in the semi-final to meet Pretoria Boys High in the final. After the completion of the singles Grey led 4-2 and had to win only one doubles fixture to win the tournament for the first time since 2002.
