FINAL RESULTS

On Day 1 Andrew Burmester (Grey) won the prize for the best individual score of the day at Woodhill GC, with a round of 70 (2 under par).

The Grey College golfers showed excellent form, leading after Day 1 and 2.  De Kuilen High School just clipped us in the matchplay on the last day (4-2) to clinch the title.  Grey College narrowly ended second.

Grey College played as the Southern Free State schools golf champion against the champion schools from the Northern Cape; Eastern Free State; and the Northern Free State.  One round were played at Clarens GC, and Grey College won.
Grey will now represent the FS/NC during the SA schools golf finals in Johannesburg from 14-16 June.

63 Players competed in the Grey Champs.

The competition was devided into 2 sections, and 2 rounds were played.  Section A was for players with a handicap of 10 or lower, where they played medal.
Section B was a IPS competition where players played of their own handicap, with 18 being the maximum handicap.

3 Players ended tied on 73 points, but a winner was decided by a count-out.

Theo played great golf, shooting rounds of 77 and 71, winning by 3 strokes.

St. John's international school golf championship.


36 School teams entered the tournament, including teams from England, Zimbabwe, and Kenia.  A team consisted out of 4 players, and all players had to play off a scratch handicap.

The Grey College team performed well under the tough circumstances, and ended 18th in the tournament.  This ensured them of a silver medal. 

The tournament was won by KES, who also won the National schools championships only a few weeks prior of the St. John's international school golf championship.
